Chuck Long
General Manager

Chuck is a graduate of Purdue University with a BS in Ag Economics. Upon graduation, he returned to the family farm until 1996 when he began his career with CGB as a grain merchandiser in Mount Vernon, IN. His next stop with the company was in Wayne City, IL as a facility manager prior to relocating to Hennepin, IL where he worked as the IP Coordinator for the Northern Illinois region. In 2001, he accepted a promotion to move to Louisiana to be the Superintendent at Zen-Noh Grain export facility in the Gulf. In 2003, he returned to CGB Jeffersonville, IN as the Facility Operations Manager, and in that role he had oversight of the MG Rail, Inc. subsidiary business. Chuck has since been made the General Manager of MG Rail, Inc. with direct responsibility of the management and oversight of its business.

Nick Owens
DSLE (Designated Supervisor of Locomotive Engineers)

From Laconia, Indiana, Nick graduated from the Prosser School of Technology in 2011, majoring in Diesel Mechanics. Nick began his career at CGB as a laborer/deckhand, and expanded his role to include loader operations. Deciding to further advance his skillset, Nick became a certified engineer and conductor to transfer to MG Rail in 2014. Nick’s leadership among his team and dedication to rail compliance and safety led him to a supervisory position in 2016. He has since completed the Short Line Safety Institute’s Train-the-Trainer Hazmat Training Program covering supplemental reviews of the Hazardous Material Regulations. Additionally, he received certification from the 49 CFR Part 213 Track Safety Standards course, presented by the National Road Safety Service (NRSS). In 2020, Nick became a Part 234 Crossing Signal Inspector. He also served MG Rail as an Assigned Security Coordinator until his promotion in 2023. Nick proudly leads the operations of MG Rail, Inc. as its superintendent.
